Papercrete 'Concrete' Wall Weathers Nicely in Nob Hill's Monte Vista Neighborhood

I used to love old cemeteries in upstate NY where I grew up. They were usually surrounded by the intricate concrete type of wall above, & were usually also covered in a hundred years worth of creeper vines. We'd climb over the concrete & into the cemetery & wander around, gazing at the headstones.
The wall above is not made from concrete though, but from repulped paper fiber & cement or clay, & it can be created in the back yard. In 2012 I attended a Greenbuilt Homes Tour which featured the house in Nob Hill with a recycled wall made from paper, above. Papercrete walls can use any newspaper, lottery tickets & phone books…seriously–lottery tickets & old phone books.
Meanwhile, time has gone by & I wondered how the walls looked now, almost ten years after I first saw them. The images above are from 2012 in the spring. The two images below are from the winter of 2021. Clearly the recycled paper wall is withstanding the tests of time. I'll check back in another ten years...
