Nob Hill Sidewalk Art: Chalk 'Mosaic' Drawings

Walking around the Nob Hill Neighborhoods is always a treat. The neighborhoods are large & diverse, so bouts of creativity are bound to appear--then disappear--as you explore. Take for example the cool fluorescent sidewalk drawings that burst to life as you pass by in the historic College View Neighborhood. Seen on the east side of Solano Drive, the chalk drawings are perhaps reflective of mosaic stained glass designs that act as colorful windows. You almost don't want to walk on the delicate artwork...

Seemingly spontaneous art can be seen all around the neighborhoods if you look. One area in Nob Hill that feels color-ly familiar is around the Monte Vista Elementary School. Nob Hill is the Fractal World Headquarters, home of the Fractal Foundation, so it seems natural that elementary students created the Fractals at Monte Vista Elementary School. Fractals, as I've learned living here, are everywhere! More on fractals here...

I imagine there is a connection between elementary school students who have fun learning basic STEM concepts--via the Fractal Foundation--might be inspired to also create unique sidewalk 'mosaic tile' art-pieces in the neighborhood. One section of the sidewalk art includes the mosaic letters HOPE--the contrasting or complimentary colors beautifully displaying the four letters. There's something wonderful about growing up in Nob Hill...
